The text of most recent dream reports from participants in the Demographic Survey 2010 and other sources. The exact question for the Demographic Survey 2010: Please describe your most recent dream, either from last night or within the last week, in as much detail as possible. The response is limited to 3000 characters. My most common dream is parking my car somewhere, and then getting lost at a univeristy or some shopping complex, or unfamiliar urban area.. then trying to find my way back to my car, and not being able to find it.. (this has actually happened to me a couple of times in "real life").. the streets and buildings morph / change as I walk through them.. sometimes I see friends or former friends in these dreams, and I ask them, or strangers how to get out or where the parking lot(s) are, and they generally ignore me.. or I'll find the lot where I was sure I had parked, and my car isn't there.. sometimes I'm able to find my car.. sometimes these dreams seem to go on for hours, even though I know dreams happen in REM sleep, and last mere seconds.. I've also had dreams about finding my car up on blocks, stripped of its seats, wheels, engine, and so on.. I've never actually had a car I owned stripped or stolen, but every car I've ever owned was broken into at least once, and possessions stolen to it and body or glass damage done by the little bastards.. luckily, I carry enough Insurance with low deductibles that although it's a huge inconvenience, the repairs have never cost me more than $100.00, or nothing at all..

The text of worst nightmare reports from participants in the Demographic Survey 2010 and other sources. Exact question: Please describe the worst nightmare you can remember, from any period of your life, in as much detail as you can. Response is limited to 3000 characters. I've had a dream about having my car stolen or stripped, and then tried to call the cops on a cell phone or pay phone (before I used cell phones).. and I can't get the phone to work.. it's broken, or been vandalized.. or if I can get through and they put me on hold and never come back to answer.. so I'm left stranded, with a stripped or stolen car, and no way to reach the cops.. when I have this dream, it usually ends abruptly, and I wake up, sit up in bed, and as the dream fades away, I tell myself "it was only a dream"..
