The text of most recent dream reports from participants in the Demographic Survey 2010 and other sources. The exact question for the Demographic Survey 2010: Please describe your most recent dream, either from last night or within the last week, in as much detail as possible. The response is limited to 3000 characters. One night last week I dreamed of flying, like an eagle, arms spread and soaring effortlessly. I often have flying dreams but this night was about an ex Father-in-Law, who was ducking in and out of a side door on a building that was built in a field where I used to live as a child. The building is about a 1/2 mile long and is located along the old Reading Rail line on the West Shore near Harrisburg, Pa. I've seen it from the air and this makes the dream more vivid for me. When the FIL would come out of the building he would try to shoot me down with a shotgun but I was always able to fly behind the rooftops out of his line of fire. I was in full control of the situation and found it sort of like a game. This old man was not very well liked by many people but I got along with him rather well and we used to hunt together from time to time and had mutual respect for each other, but during this dream he seemed devilish which was just part of his normal character. I don't remember any other part of the dream, just the flying and avoiding being shot by my ex FIL.

The text of earliest remembered dream reports from participants in the Demographic Survey 2010 and other sources. Exact question: Please describe the first dream you remember from childhood in as much detail as you can. Response is limited to 3000 characters. My first dreams I can remember as a child began very young earlier than 4 years old. I would awake in terror of what was happening. For the most part the dream (recurring) was not about anything in particular but was more of a feeling of danger or doom or something very large and foreboding that was threatening me. I often tried to run from it but found I couldn't get anywhere and often woke myself up with the attempted movement, legs in motion, or actually falling out of bed. The dream haunted me for years.
A follow-up question for participants in the Demographic Survey 2010 who answered the question about earliest remembered dreams: Is it a recurrent dream? Yes
The text of worst nightmare reports from participants in the Demographic Survey 2010 and other sources. Exact question: Please describe the worst nightmare you can remember, from any period of your life, in as much detail as you can. Response is limited to 3000 characters. I've had so many nightmares that come into mind since I used to be a Surgical Technician for 23 years in the Air Force, I often went over disasters in my sleep. But one short dream in Particular was really bad, several years after that career. I was being chased by someone and actually jumped from my bed with both feet on the wall and shoved off landing at the foot of bed and woke up thinking I had fallen off a large cliff in the forest and fell several hundred feet and hit soft ground at the bottom and survived. I often have dreams of being chased and find it difficult to run but this time was different in that the leap I actually made was almost impossible for me to do normally awake.
